The Montreal Canadiens announced Friday the appointment of Christopher Boucher as director of the advanced statistics analysis department, a new position the organization has created.
This Montrealer has spent the last two seasons with the San José Sharks organization as a professional scout. He also acted as director, service and evaluation of hockey, at the Montreal firm Sportlogiq, which specializes in the analysis of sports statistics and artificial intelligence.
In his role, it will be Christopher Boucher called to support hockey management and the coaching staff by providing statistical data related to player evaluation and strategic decision makingrefers to CH.
We recognize the importance of advanced statistics in the NHL today and we believe he is the right person to lead this new department.said general manager Kent Hughes.
