While Sebastián Battaglia and company are working and thinking about the League Cup semifinals against Racing, in Boca they will also be attentive to the latest moves that have taken place in the AFA in recent hours. The reason? Resolving something the club has requested on more than one occasion and the definition is now approaching: the finals owed to the team for the titles it has won since 2020.

With confirmation, at least from the judicial process, that Claudio Chiqui Tapia will complete Marcelo Tinelli’s mandate in the League, Argentine football (in a year of the World Cup) will be reorganized under the orbit of the AFA, a thing both Boca and River have been demanding since the end of 2019. Even on more than one occasion, meetings between Rodolfo D’Onofrio and Jorge Ameal had a return to the mother’s home as their goal.

Although the “rebellion” of the League clubs decided to call for elections within 90 days and Cristian Malaspina had the support of most clubs (including Barracas Central, almost a nod from Tapia to the leader of Argentinos Juniors) finally the intervention of the AFA is needed before the protection of Justice. And now the power has all Tapia.

As already happened at the end of 2021 and at the beginning of 2022, but for some reason the lack of meaning of the political situation in the League, at Brandsen 805 they are now waiting for the AFA, with Tapia grouping in the leadership. of two slots, to inform what will happen in the finals that have been postponed for nearly two years.

And although one of the motions considered by some League directors, prior to the intervention, was to directly attribute the title to Boca without contesting the final (for winning the Maradona Cup and the 2020 Super League), others instead looked for the option of a final against Colón -for winning the League Cup- or River, for being runner-up in the Super League that Boca snatched from him with Miguel Russo as DT.

Even Boca still has a final pending against River, due to winning the Argentine Cup and Núñez’s club in the last League. The curious? While River and Colón are already vying for the Champions Trophy for what they won in 2021, Boca said they have not been given the chance to play in the finals for what they won in 2020, before and after the pandemic.

Now with Tapia at the helm of the AFA and the League, from the Boca leadership they want the president to give the dates to play the pending finals or finish deciding whether those titles will remain for the club, because they all have prizes (financial) not only for the institution but for the campus, because they have it in every contract they have.
