The French striker has reportedly agreed to a three-year contract extension that is about to become formal, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. This source requested anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss this issue publicly.

Several French and Spanish media also confirmed the information on Saturday morning. Mbappé’s entourage, who were contacted in mid-afternoon by Agence France-Presse, did not want to respond to information from the media, while awaiting communication from PSG.

According to Marca and RMC, he announced his wish to stay with Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, again refused after trying to sign the center-forward last year.

This series of a few months is coming to an end well for PSG, which must keep the best player, whom it dreams of winning its first Champions League.

The 23-year-old Mbappé’s contract is due to expire in June, meaning he can change his address without a transfer fee.

Goodbye Mary

For his part, Angel Di Maria has announced that he will be leaving PSG after seven seasons. The Argentinian striker’s contract is about to expire and the French champions confirmed his departure on Friday night.

In his 295th and final game at PSG on Saturday at the Parc des Princes against Metz, Di Maria will try to add to his record 91 goals and 111 assists for the last time – a team record.

Di Maria, 34, has won five Ligue 1 and Coupe de France titles, as well as four other league cups.
