The proposal was presented by André Figueiredo, who justified the request citing the tribute paid by Lewis Hamilton at the Interlagos Grand Prix, São Paulo in 2021 to Ayrton Senna.

On that occasion, Hamilton won the GP and wore a helmet with the colors of Brazil, and when he won, he repeated Senna’s gesture when he took the country’s flag and raised it in the car.

Hamilton has already shown his love for the country on other occasions, recently, the pilot passed through Brazil and met fans in São Paulo, where he received a ribbon from Senhor do Bonfim.
