Bloodier and more real than ever: this is the “reborn” Mortal Kombat 1

When everything seemed to have settled down in episode 12 of the saga, the co-creator of the franchise Ed Bonn and the official channels of Warner Bros. presented in Argentina Thursday morning the first official trailer of Mortal Kombat 1 and up to its release date.

During the clip it could be seen a Mortal Kombat universe reborn created by the fire god Liu Kang, in which they present modified versions of never-before-seen iconic characters, much less the ones that started the saga in 1992.

Mortal Kombat 1 marks a new beginning for the franchise and we couldn’t be more excited to share this original story and a new take on classic characters with our fans,” said Ed Boon, creative director of NetherRealm Studios and co-creator of Mortal Kombat.

What will Mortal Kombat 1 be like?

Developed by NetherRealm Studios, the same studios involved in the previous two games in the series (MK X and MK 11), the upcoming title promises to offer unexpected twists on classic rivalries and original stories from a large cast of legendary fighters, such as Liu Kang , Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage and many more.

Mortal Kombat 1 will also introduce the fighter kameos, a unique cast of characters that can help in combatthus expanding the combat possibilities of the players.

“With Mortal Kombat 1 we are bringing a reimagined universe to the legendary franchise that has enthralled gamers for more than 30 years and continues to outdo itself,” said David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Games.

Starting Friday, May 19, Mortal Kombat 1 will be available for book on all platforms included: Mortal Kombat 1 Standard Edition will be available physically and digitally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series XS, Nintendo Switch and PC, including Steam and the Epic Games Store.

As for additional content, the Kombat Pack, which is part of the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition, will include a character skin of Johnny Cage with the likeness of the famous actor and martial artist. Jean-Claude van Dammeearly access to six new playable characters and five new Kameo fighters.

All pre-orders will receive one of the mythical characters of the game: shang tsungand those who pre-order the game for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series XS will also receive Access to the Mortal Kombat 1 betawhich will be available in August 2023.

However, the final release of Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled for September 19, 2023 for PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series XS, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
