Streaming giant Netflix has released the first clips of the highly anticipated TV series resident Evil, based on the survival horror video game of the same name. The apocalyptic images, full of zombies (including dogs), promise to do homage to Capcom, the publisher of the title.
The series coming this summer is set on two timelines and in two locations – first in 2022, New Raccoon City, and the other in 2036, in a ruined London.
In the current season, we follow the character of Albert Wesker, played by Lance Reddick, an employee of Umbrella Corporation, the company behind the T virus, which threatens to destroy the planet. However, this pharmaceutical company always presents itself as kind to the public.
However, we learn that in 2036, Jade Wesker (Ella Balinska), one of Albert Wesker’s children, is one of only 15 million people left on Earth and is trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. While searching for his missing sister, he must accept the fact that his family, along with the Umbrella Corporation, are behind this dark legacy for the planet.
Resident Evil fans should find their account in this TV series, especially given the many nods to the video games – including a zombie dog -, but also to its horror genre, which is aired according to pictures.
This isn’t the first time the Resident Evil video game series has been adapted for the small screen. In recent years, the animated production Resident Evil: Infinite Darknesswas also broadcast on Netflix.
The launch of the series, whose season has eight episodes, is scheduled for July 14 on Netflix.
