Willow on Disney+: Does the new series live up to the 80s classic?

Disney+ stomps with the first of his new series: Willow. This production is the sequel to the 1988 film of the same name, directed by and starring Ron Howard Warwick Davis.

But no one would imagine that 34 years later, the actor would reprise the role of the brave farmer who does magic and won hundreds of viewers in that fantasy film, written by Bob Dolman and based on a story by George Lucas.

Movie: Willow 1988

The adventure of Willow Ufgood, a Nelwyn (dwarf) farmer who dreams of becoming a sorcerer, begins when he finds a little girl named Elora Danan. According to a prophecy, this girl will end the reign of the evil Bavmorda. Willow is chosen to be Elora’s guardian, reluctantly starting her journey to protect her. On her way he finds allies such as the warrior Daikini (human), called Madmardigan, who help him in his task by facing the forces of the sorceress Bavmorda.

Series: Willow 2022

The Series will develop a story that will begin with Princess Kit, daughter of Madmardigan and Sorsha, who together with Willow gathers an unusual group to help her in her goal. Together they embark on a perilous journey away from their homes that will face their inner demons and unite to save the princess’ twin brother and the world.

It is available in Disney+ from November 30 and will have 8 chapters total. These will premiere weekly, until January 11, 2023.
