Police received a call Thursday around 21:15 local time (17:15 in Argentina) that shots had been fired at the building in Deelböge street, Gross Borstel district, police spokesman Holger Vehren said.

The representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Police Criminal Investigation Office indicated for their part that the attacker of German nationality, he had no criminal record of any kind and had a firearms license such as sports shooter.

For the crime he used the gun that was registered in his name and they met at his house more boxes with ammunition. Additionally, the police seized electronic devices which are still being investigated.

While the motivation for the attack is yet to be clarified, there is no indication that there is any political backgroundbut rather that the authorities have indicated a possible personal dispute, although they did not go into detail.

Philipp P. left the religious community about a year and a half ago, “voluntarily but not in good manners”, according to the spokesman for the Criminal Investigation Bureau, Thomas Radzuweit, although information on the circumstances of his departure at the moment they are contradictory.

The seven victims of the attack are four men and two womenaged between 33 and 60 and all of German nationality as well an unborn child seven months pregnant. None of them were related to the attacker.

Eight people were injured and four of them remain in serious condition for the moment, including six of German nationality, as well as a Ugandan and a Ukrainian woman.

The events occurred when about fifty Jehovah’s Witnesses had gathered to celebrate a religious function.
