“I don’t think the US report is serious… “Scaring”
“The United States is building a military alliance against China.”
“We are carrying out ‘active defense’ on the Ukrainian front.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin said the United States cannot prepare for war with both Russia and China.
According to an interview published on social networking services (SNS) by reporter Pavel Zarubin of the Russian state broadcaster Rossiya on the 15th, President Putin, who is about to visit China, said, “It makes no sense for (the United States) to fight both Russia and China. I don’t think it’s serious. “I think we’re scaring each other,” he said with a laugh.
This can be interpreted as a response to the contents of the ‘United States Strategic Posture’ report published by the US Congress’ Strategic Posture Committee on the 12th. The report at the time emphasized that the United States must be prepared to deter the two nuclear powers, China and Russia.
President Putin said, “If the United States is preparing for war with Russia, then we are all preparing for war.” He added, “We are following the ancient principle that ‘if you want peace, you must prepare for war.’ “I don’t think war between nuclear-armed countries is a healthy thought in the minds of healthy people,” he emphasized.
This is a quote from the famous war book ‘Treatise on Military Science’ written by the Roman Empire’s Flavius Vegetius Renatus: ‘If you want peace, prepare for war.’
He added, “It is the United States that is trying to build a military alliance against China,” and “but we want peace.”
On this day, one day before the 600th day of the invasion of Ukraine, President Putin commented that Russia was benefiting from the war situation.
“What is happening right now across the entire (front of engagement) is called ‘active defense,’” he said. “Our forces are improving their positions in almost every area. “It’s a fairly large area,” he claimed.
