Interview with CNN… “Information on wiretapping of terrorist groups is also disclosed.”
Regarding the deaths of hundreds of civilians due to radiation exposure at a hospital in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military announced that it would disclose evidence showing that the incident was unrelated to them.
Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus, spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), told CNN on the 17th (local time) that he plans to release additional evidence to prove that the IDF is not responsible for the Gaza hospital explosion.
Lieutenant Colonel Konlisuk said that he had released the video taken by the drone to foreign media and that he planned to release additional information from wiretapped conversations between Palestinian militants who are believed to have misfired the rocket.
He added that the IDF analyzed it through its own system and confirmed that the Israeli military did not fire at that point and that there was no misfire.
He then claimed that Islamic Jihad had fired rockets toward northern or central Israel, and that at least one of them had misfired and fell to the ground and exploded.
The IDF also added that about 450 of the rockets launched toward Israel by terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war fell on the Gaza Strip.
Even when it was pointed out that the landing was mistaken because of Israel’s Iron Dome interception, he strongly denied it and said, “We do not intercept rockets over the Gaza Strip.”
He added that this information was delivered to the U.S. ahead of U.S. President Joe Biden’s visit to Israel.
Earlier on this day, the IDF posted a statement under the name of its spokesperson on claimed.
The White House also said that Israel is firmly denying responsibility for this incident.
John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator for the White House National Security Council (NSC), told reporters on the presidential plane during President Biden’s trip to Israel that day, “Israel is very firmly denying that this incident has anything to do with them.”
When asked whether the United States suspected the cause of the incident in favor of Israel, it stated that it was not weighing any responsibility for the explosion.
He added that President Biden has directed his national security team to gather as much information and context as possible “so we can learn more about what happened.”
This afternoon, the Al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip was attacked, resulting in hundreds of deaths. Palestinian authorities estimated that 200 to 300 people were killed in the attack, while Hamas said the death toll was more than 500.
