The president of the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, who appeared in pornography with his wife, has been fired.
According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on the 28th (local time), the University of Wisconsin Board of Directors unanimously decided to fire President Joe Gow (63). The board declined to give specific reasons in a statement.
Gow and his wife Carmen Wilson are known to have appeared on ‘SexyHappyCooking’, a YouTube channel that creates vegan dishes with adult film stars. The couple revealed their names in the video.
This YouTube channel is operated by X (formerly Twitter)’s ‘SexyHappyCouple’ account.
The X account is said to have urged followers to use ‘OnlyFans’, an adult content platform exclusively for subscribers.
The couple also published two books about the adult industry and pornography under pen names, the WSJ reported.
Gow has served as the University of Wisconsin Lacrosse President since February 2007. He said, “It is unfortunate that the board did not follow the due process” in his dismissal.
“Dr. Gow’s actions have tarnished the reputation of our university,” said University of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman. “A school leader must be an example to students, staff, faculty and the community, and Gow did not meet this standard.” reported.
In 2018, Gou invited an adult film actor to speak on campus with funds from the president’s discretion. University of Wisconsin officials reportedly reprimanded him, saying, “He made a wrong decision.”
The University of Wisconsin has 13 campuses, and the La Crosse campus has about 10,000 students.
