Jose Rafael Hernandez was a prominent Argentine poet, politician, journalist and military man, whose greatest work was the Martino Fierroconsidered the pinnacle of gaucho literature and an absolute classic of Argentina.
Hernandez was born on November 10 of 1834 in Buenos Aires, a date which after many years was preparing to celebrate Tradition day in Argentina.
