What is post-anime depression? A common phenomenon in the otaku world

What is post-anime depression?

The Web site Urban dictionary defined post-anime depressive syndrome as “a feeling of depression that is experienced after finishing an anime series. Symptoms include constantly thinking about anime, very deep intuition, ignoring people around you, and feeling drowsy.”

According to the dictionary that contains the slang definition of common words and phrases in the English language, the Causes They can be:

  • Being too attached to the characters.
  • Identify with the anime.

One of them is to look for other options like watch a sequel or spin-off of the animeif you have it, or start reading manga series. In this way the fan will be able to better connect with the characters, discovering new information and getting to know their protagonists better.

Another option is to chat with other fans, who will offer you advice and not judge you. The best way to get in touch with these people is through online forums or the small communities that are created within social networks, full of people who will understand your pain better than anyone else.

Finally, you can explore within the work of the director, manga artist or studio that the anime has produced, to discover other series that fill that void and give a chance to other plots. Since it is the same author or a similar production, you will be able to connect better and you will no longer miss that series that ended.
