A plane that needed to make an emergency landing crashed this Saturday on one of the access bridges to Miami-Beach, in Florida, United States, hitting a truck circling the area. As a result of the accident, one man died and five others had to be hospitalizedone of them is in serious condition.

As reported by various local media, a single-engine device needs to be done an emergency landing and descending the bridge, it collided with a truck they were riding in a woman and her two children.

As a result of the crash, the plane capsized and caught fire leaving a thick column of black smoke. The Miami-Dade Fire Department initially reported that a total of six people were transferred to various medical centers with injuries of varying degrees.

Two of them, with serious injuries, were directed to the Ryder Trauma Center, at Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital, while the others were taken to local hospitals with non -life -threatening injuries.

According to firefighters, the fire was quickly extinguished and the wreckage of the plane was collected on the bridge that had to be closed due to the tragedy.

In photos sent to local television portal NBC6, which were apparently taken from a mobile phone, they showed equipment consumed by fire while a dozen drivers passing by the area got out of their vehicles in obvious fear.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the plane was a single-engine Cessna 172 that lost power before crashing into the bridge, about 5 miles east of Opa-Locka airport.

Three people were traveling on the plane, one of whom died minutes after the accident. The victim was identified as Narciso Torres, an airport traffic controller.

The National Association of Air Traffic Controllers said Torres, 36, was riding in a single-engine Cessna 172 when it crashed into the bridge. The union did not know if he was the pilot or passenger, the Miami Herald reported on its website.

According to the FAA, the plane was departing from Fort Lauderdale International Airport (north of Miami) and en route to Key West International Airport when the accident occurred.
