“Since May 16, 2,439 Nazis from the Azov (battalion) and Ukrainian servicemen blocked at the iron mill have surrendered. Today, May 20, the last group of 531 warriors surrendered”, The spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense, Igor Konashenkov, reported on Friday.
He also told President Vladimir Putin “the conclusion of the operation and the complete liberation of the complex (from Azovstal) and the city of Mariupol ”.
The photos identified in recent hours show how Ukrainian soldiers lived in the tunnels and corridors of the steel plant. In that area they thrived some of the bloodiest battles in the war and where the defenders of the country showed the greatest effort.
