From 1 June, Italy will no longer require a vaccine, treatment or test health certificate against Covid-19 for the entry of foreign tourists.
Health Minister Roberto Speranza’s order requiring the submission of the so-called “green transition” expires this Tuesday (31) and will not be renewed.
In Italy, which wants to revive the tourism sector, which is one of the cornerstones of its economy after the two-year crisis due to the pandemic, the end of the health certificate requirement against the coronavirus comes on the eve of the high summer season.
The Italian government has already lifted almost all health restrictions against Covid, and the “green pass” is mandatory only for hospital workers and nursing home visitors.
Mask use is mandatory in public and intercity transportation, cinemas and theaters until at least 15 June.
Italy is responsible for around 17.4 million cases and 166,600 deaths in the Covid pandemic, but the average number of infections and deaths has been falling since the end of April.
