Victoria Beckhamwife of the former English football star and one of the owners of the Inter Miami CF club, David Beckhamhe confessed to consuming the same foods for 25 years to keep his figure.
Indeed, the former Manchester United midfielder had revealed that he and his wife have only shared food from the same dish once over the years, a situation he called “unbelievable”.
Dietary habits of the Beckham family
“I’m really excited about food and wine. When I eat something good, I want everyone to try it,” explained Beckham, a father of four, on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast.
“Unfortunately, I’m married to someone who has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years. Since I met Victoria, she only eats grilled fish and steamed vegetables. He will very rarely deviate from that,” she added.
The ex-footballer later recalled that Victoria, 47, relaxed her habitual diet and only enjoyed a bite or two of her husband’s plate once. “The only time she shared something that was on my plate was when I was pregnant with Harper, and it was the most amazing thing,” David recalled in a statement published by the Mirror.
“It was one of my favorite evenings. I don’t remember what it was, but I know he hasn’t had it since,” she said.
In a previous interview, Victoria said she does not eat foods cooked in oil, butter or sauces, nor does she eat red meat or dairy products. Also, she admitted to celebrating her birthday with a fruit cake.
Elsewhere on the podcast, David Beckham also revealed that he signed up for an Italian cooking class while playing for AC Milan in 2009, in an attempt to make the “perfect” ragù and risotto for his children.
“When I left Manchester, I was obviously devastated at the time, but it’s really raised me to live in different countries, eat different foods, try different things,” he explained.
“I played in Italy for 11 months, I was on loan at Milan. In the morning I trained and in the afternoon I decided to take an Italian cooking class. I really enjoyed it. I did some private lessons and then I went to a class. But everyone was very focused on what they were doing, so they didn’t even care if I was…” he said.
David, whose eldest son Brooklyn is a budding chef, added, “I took the class because my kids’ favorite food is Italian, so I wanted to perfect the perfect ragu and risotto.”
By appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden, his son Brooklyn confirmed David’s love of Italian cuisine. “He loves risotto,” Brooklyn confessed to James.
