It all started when Daniel Palmer, 55, died a few days after being arrested in connection with a brutal attack on his sister.Wanda, who left her in a coma for nearly twenty-four months.
Palmer was charged with attempted murder and intentional injury for a June 2020 attack that left his sister, 51, “attacked, torn apart and left for dead,” according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Jackson County Sheriff Ross Mellinger recently told West Virginia local Metro News radio that his investigators received a call from a service center earlier this month.
“Wanda Palmer still had severe brain damagesaid the sheriff, but only with time he managed to recover and, after two years, he managed to communicate. It was at this point that she identified the man Wanda claimed was responsible for her horrific injuries.. Nothing but his brother.
“We had a little idea of what had happened, but the problem was that we had nothing solid to go on,” the sheriff added to the radio station. “There were no eyewitnesses, no one lived in the house, no surveillance footage, no cell phone printouts. There was practically nothing to advance“.
Wanda Palmer was able to respond in one word to the sheriff’s delegates who finally arrived at the health center to talk to the victim about the incident.
“She mentioned her head, the area of her body where she was injured,” says the criminal complaint obtained by Nbc News. “When she was asked who had hurt her, she stated that she was her brother. He then identified his brother as Daniel. When asked why Daniel attacked her, she Wanda stated that she was ugly.“.

Jackson County Sheriff Ross Mellinger confirmed this to MetroNews Daniel Palmer died in hospital Thursday after admitting to the assaults on his sister.
West Virginia Department of Homeland Security Deputy General Counsel Morgan Switzer said in a statement to WCHS: “Inmate Palmer did not cooperate while in custody, accepting only his crimes.”
His death comes just days after he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his sister, Wanda, with a gun at their Cottageville, West Virginia home in June 2020.
In a statement on Facebook, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department reported this Wanda Palmer woke up “after 2 years of hospitalization and in a coma after being attacked, stabbed and left for dead”.
